Each year, Michigan DECA depends upon support from our community members to assist us by serving as competitive event judges to help evaluate marketing and customer relations skills of our students that will be competing at our conferences. 


During the competition, the high school students will apply their knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing, merchandising and management in practical real world situations. 


The specific details of the event you will be judging will be explained to you at the judges’ orientation, which held just prior to the actual competition.


Dates that Judges are needed for the State Conference: 

  • February 21 – 28, 2023 – online written event evaluations – judge the written projects from the comfort of your home computer
  • Thursday, March 9, 2023 – at Huntington Place from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, March 10, 2023 – at Huntington Place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Friday, March 10, 2023 – at Huntington Place from Noon to 6:00 p.m.


Judges must be able to stay for the entire time period they have selected, in order to keep the evaluation consistent.
