State Leadership Conference
East Lansing, Michigan
November 4 and 5, 2021
Learn how to MAXIMIZE YOUR MOMENTUM for another exciting DECA Year! The State Leadership Conference provides students with the first opportunity of the year to network and collaborate with members from across the state. Engaging workshops and key note speakers are being planned for members attending. Members will also get the time to network with representatives from some of the top colleges in Michigan.
Whether you want to learn more about how being a DECA member, or are a returning member getting ready for the year ahead, there is something for everyone at the State Leadership Conference!
Michigan DECA is excited to be partnering with the Broad College of Business, Michigan State University to coordinate many of the conference sessions and workshops.
Thursday’s activities will provide a unique opportunity for members to interact with business professionals. The Thursday night banquet will begin with a presentation by two industry executives. During the dinner, the members from each chapter will be divided into groups of two or three people to have dinner with other members and a business person recruited by the Broad College of Business. Each table will have unique conservations based on the business person’s experience, similar to the way the discussions take place during DECA’s Senior Leadership Academy at the International Conference. After the dinner, a fun, fast-paced networking session will be lead by students from the Broad College of Business.
Friday’s activities will take place at the Broad College of Business. The morning will start with a second keynote session by a business executive, followed by two rounds of breakout sessions presented by the business community and representatives of MSU. After lunch we will have two rounds of DECA breakout sessions presented by the State Officers and Chapter Advisors.
