Be A Judge

Each year, Michigan DECA depends upon support from our community members to assist us by serving as competitive event judges to help evaluate marketing and customer relations skills of our students that will be competing in the District and State Conferences. During the competition, the high school students will apply their knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing, merchandising and management in practical real world situations. The specific details of the event you will be judging will be explained to you at the judges’ orientation, which held just prior to the actual competition.

DECA members must be out of high school for three years before being eligible to serve as a judge.


All judges must stay for the entire shift they are assigned.  Days/times are as follows:

  • Friday, March 9, 2018 – 10:00am to 7:00pm
  • Saturday, March 10, 2018 – 8:30am to 1pm
  • Saturday, March 10, 2018 – 1:00pm to 5:30pm


Lunch will be provided.  Parking will be validated at the Cobo Center Rooftop Parking Deck only.
