You’re Invited to serve as a judge at one of Michigan DECA’s conferences!
As a judge, you have the opportunity to see DECA members in action. Your role as a judge, with your invaluable experiences in your industry is vital to the success of not only this conference, but to DECA and marketing education as a whole.
Students start competing at the district level in December and January, with winners advancing on to compete at the State Career Development Conference in March. Students then compete at the State Conference in order to quality for competition at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in April.
We are still in need of Judges for Saturday March 15, 2014 for the afternoon events from Noon to 5:00 p.m. Please use this form to indicate your preference of events.

Where is the Hotel Located?
The Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center is located at 100 Renaissance Center Drive, Detroit, MI 48243
Where should I park?
We will validate your parking for judges if you park in the Port-Atwater Parking Structure, which is located on at 200 Beaubien Street (just south of Jefferson Avenue), Detroit, MI 48243. We regret that we will not be able to validate your parking if you park in any other lots or in Valet Parking. There is a covered walkway that leads into the Renaissance Center.
What time should I be at the Hotel?
I recommend arriving at the parking structure 20 minutes prior to your assigned time so that you will have time to walk to the meeting room.
Do I need to be there the entire time indicated?
To ensure consistency, we need to be sure judges remain until competition has completed for all students in the area you are judging. Judging will conclude by the time indicated on your confirmation letter.
Where should I report?
Registration and orientation will be held in the Mackinaw Ballroom on the fifth level of the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. Signs will be in the lobby to direct you to the ballroom.
Is there a suggested attire?
Because the students are required to wear business attire, judges are generally more comfortable also dressing in business attire.
