September Assignments
  1. Your next Spotlight articles are due to me from your advisor by November 1 and January 20th – for this I would like you to bring a short outline of what you will be covering in each of the articles.
  2. An outline of your workshop is due at our meeting on September 15th.
If you plan on competing this year:
  1. Your memberships need to be paid through your chapter, by October 31st, so that you can qualify to attend the International Conference.
  2. Remember, you can only compete in an individual event.
  3. If you plan to compete at the District Conference, you will need to register and pay the registration fee through your chapter by their deadline and amount due.  If applicable for your competitive event, you will take the online test with your chapter during their selected testing days.
  4. If you plan to compete at the State Conference, you will also need to register and pay the conference registration fee through your chapter by their deadline and amount due. You will not be included on your chapter’s housing list (please remind your advisor of this), since Michigan DECA will pay for your portion of the hotel, and you will room with the other State Officers.  If applicable for your competitive event, you will take the online test with your chapter during their selected testing days.
  5. If you advance to the International Conference with your competitive event, you will NOT need to register with your chapter if you have paid Michigan DECA the ICDC deposit by the February 1st deadline.  Since we pay your conference expenses, flight and hotel room, you will not have any additional costs for ICDC (other than your officer deposit). Your officer duties at the conference will be worked around your competition schedule.

Making Conference Payments

Mail checks or money orders to:

  • Michigan DECA
  • Eastern Michigan University
  • Ypsilanti, MI 48197

You can also pay by credit/debit card. We need the card number, the expiration date, the security code numbers (3 or 4 digits from the back of the card, on the signature space). Also if the billing address is different than your home address, we need this this as well.
Two ways to do this:

  1. Call the office at 734-487-3322 and give Ann your information.
  2. Fill out the credit card form and fax it to the office. The fax number is listed on the form. Note, the form will automatically add a 3% fee to the total – we don’t charge officers this fee, Ms. Day will remove this added amount when she processes the card.
