State Leadership Conference

HERE WE GO for another exciting DECA Year!  The State Leadership Conference provides students with the first opportunity of the year to network and collaborate with members from across the state. The conference will be held at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel on November 12 and 13, 2019. Engaging workshops and key note speakers are being planned for members attending. Members will also get the time to network with representatives from some of the top colleges in Michigan.
Whether you want to learn more about how being a DECA member, or are a returning member getting ready for the year ahead, there is something for everyone at the State Leadership Conference!

Conference Location

All conference activities will take place at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.


Hotel Information

All conference participants registering for both days of the conference will be required to stay at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, 187 Monroe Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 616.774.2000


Conference Registration

Chapters can choose to attend both days (Tuesday and Wednesday) or Wednesday only.

The two day registration fee includes dinner on Tuesday a Tuesday evening activity at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, lunch on Wednesday, participaton in all sessions and workshops, and conference registration materials. The one day registration fee includes lunch on Wednesday, participation in all sessions and workshops, and conference registration materials. Refunds are not available after the conference registration deadline.



Chapters are responsible for their parking charges. The hotel offers valet parking for $15.00 per day.  Self parking is free for chapters staying overnight. Self parking will be $15 for those attending only on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.


Adult Assignments

To have a smoothly run conference, all adults are needed to work an assignment.


Delegate Code of Conduct Form

Each delegate attending the conference must sign the Michigan DECA Delegate Code of Conduct Form. This form is to be hand-carried to the conference by the advisor and not sent in with the registration.


Dress Code

Business casual attire will be allowed. Khaki (Docker) style pants (no cargo pants) will be appropriate for both males and females. Ladies should have blouses, sweaters, polo-style or collared shirts. Gentlemen should wear sweaters, polo-style, or collared shirts. Denim, T-shirts, leggings, hats, and cargo pants are not allowed (This includes the dinner and evening activity at the Grand Rapids Public Museum).
